Méliès is Gone
❗️DISCLAIMER
This demo is a student project developed in four months. It is only a short version and serves as a prototype for a much larger game. This game does not exist yet, but if you liked what you’ve played, please feel free to say hi in the comments !

💫 GAME
In this investigation game, you play as Georgette, the daughter of the inventor of cinema, Georges Méliès. Grab your cinematograph, explore the studio and search for your vanished father.
1929. As he was secretly working on his last film, Georges Méliès disappeared. His daughter, Georgette, enters his old and abandoned studio in Montreuil, and stumbles on a cinematograph. Reels of the movie are still inside, but they are altered : if Georgette wants to find her father, she’ll have to film the missing elements and complete the movie.
● A single-player investigation game
● Point-and-click exploration mechanics : walk around Méliès’ studio, enter various rooms from a cinema set to a dressing-room, and collect the clues
● An innovative investigation mechanics that allows you to use a cinematograph to uncover the truth

🖱️ CONTROLS AND HELP
In this demo, you will be navigating through three different rooms. You are looking to complete a scene with three missing elements, which means you’ll have to film three objects and then edit them in the scene. To fully understand what you’re looking for, you will also need to screen the previous scene of the film.
All of the game is played with the mouse only.
● Left click anywhere on the screen to move around the studio
● Left click to pass the dialogues
● Left click on the cinematograph icon at the bottom of the screen to enter the menu, then :
○ FILM : allows you to film relevant objects in the different rooms
○ EDIT : allows you to understand which elements you are looking for to complete the scene, and edit the scene with elements once you’ve filmed them
○ SCREEN : allows you to screen the previous scene of the film, which will help you understand the context of the scene at stake
